In Memorandum
In honor of memorial day, I was wanting to post some patriotic type pictures. Unfortunately, I don’t have any, nor knowledge of where in the vicinity to get some (I’ll have to stop at the veterans memorial on my way down to Anchorage next time). Instead I present these photos of military ships taken by my wife while we were down south in San Diego. Thank you to all whom have served.
Fly free butterfly!
It was hot this afternoon- at least I thought so. Apparently, so did this butterfly, who spent a good five minutes or so resting on the ground- giving me the opportunity to snap these shots. Bonus- hose rainbow! Enjoy!

While I was out photographing the flowers, I noticed these little buzzers out working. So I grabbed a few shots of them too, for good measure. Bonus points if you can find and identify the insect in the last photo :-)
Change of Pace
I’ve kind of been bombarding you guys with bird photos for the last couple of days, so today I figured I’d change things up a bit with a photo of something different- in this case, some flowers growing in our yard.
Attack!
You just can’t get any peace around here. This little guy was just sitting on his branch, minding his own business, when out of the blue this other bird comes swooping in and lands right on top of him! Does no one respect personal space these days?
Singing in the…Sprinkler
We were out watering the lawn when this yellow warbler showed up and started cavorting in the spray. Apparently it was rather thirsty. You have to look closely at some of these photos- it hides rather well :)
